Project Description

Crushed Shells and Mud is set in a dystopian future where England is in the grip of a devastating epidemic. The play focuses on a remote coastal village, where quiet Derek waits for love and life to really begin. His world is turned on its head when Lydia arrives. She burns brightly, beyond Derek’s wildest dreams, but what is the terrible secret she is hiding?

Window Zebra were commissioned to work with Director Russell Bolam and writer Ben Musgrave, to create a theatre trailer that reflected the melancholy and nostalgic tone of the show. Window Zebra wanted to create something a little different to the traditional theatre trailer, so rather than using footage filmed in the theatre, the team opted to travel down to the coast and film in the location where the play is set.
